During the 200 years since its invention, the bicycle's popularity has ebbed and flowed. For almost a century, we've suffered the unforeseen consequences of a car-consumed culture. But now, because of a global pandemic, the transformative power of the bike is starting to take hold.
This journal’s piece is about diversity, inclusion and equity in mountain biking—both within our community and the industry at large. Ultimately, mountain bike culture is what we make it.
Typically, in the US, it takes around 8-10 years to get a bike lane built(!) By lobbying local and national government, PeopleForBikes is trying to ensure bikes are prioritized to improve Americans’ health, connect communities, boost economies and protect the planet.
Skiing isn't the only sport feeling the direct impacts of climate breakdown. My latest piece for Mpora explores the relationship between the climate crisis and Squamish's iconic landmark, the Stawamus Chief, and its local (and global) climbing fanbase.

We’re free” - Marlon Patrice of We Go Outside Too, a group aimed at providing a safe space for underrepresented individuals to unplug from inner-city life and connect with nature while encouraging solidarity and unity within the Black community.
It was unnerving how quickly the call for full lockdown had come. But as with any crisis; with urgency comes action. Moving swiftly, we swooped up surplus food from anyone who would donate it, to redistribute it to those who would need it. For Morzine’s local charity Montagne Verte, a food bank was the obvious solution.
